Easy wins for 2 teams in boys U15

Kanoa Football Club, TanHoldings, and Matansa cruised to victories in their respective games in the boys U15 division of the 2018 NMIFA Spring Youth League last Saturday at the Koblerville Elementary School Field.

In the first match, Matansa got a free win (3-0), as Shirley’s Football Club was forced to forfeit the curtain-raiser because its players had no IDs (league requires every player to present Northern Mariana Islands Football Association-issued ID before a game).

In the second game, Kanoa earned a 3-0 shutout victory over MP United with three different players scoring for the former. Ian Karl Maniago hit the board in the third minute, while Markus Toves and Brian Lubao did the same in the 43rd and 48th, respectively.

In the last tiff, TanHoldings eased past Paire, 10-3, behind Taka Borja’s six goals. Borja had four straight goals (11th, 15th, 19th and, 24th minute) and added two more in the 61st and 67th minute. Luis Claridades chipped in three, while Aloyzeus Angeles contributed one. Paire drew a pair of goals from Kaden Church and one from Dylan Mister.

CO-ED U13 TanHoldings-1 15, TanHoldings-2 2 In the battle of sister teams at the Hopwood Middle School Field, TanHoldings-1 showed no love lost to TanHoldings-2. Mark Joseph Roque paced TanHoldings-1 with his six goals, while Anthony Bergancia, Ariel Narvaez, and Angelo Pulido logged three each in the squad’s demolition of its opponent. Mary Joy Aniana made the two goals for TanHoldings-2.

Matansa 5, Kanoa-2 4 Matansa edged Kanoa-2, thanks to Chanyang Woo’s goal in the second half. Woo drilled two goals in the final 30 minutes of the match, while Jin Wen Xin also had a pair. Nazzir Altamirano scored the other goal for Matansa. As for Kanoa’s side, it got two goals each from Markus Pelisamen and Tyler Omelau.

Kanoa-1 5, MP United 5 Markus Toves knocked in two goals, including the equalizer with only one minute left in their match against MP United. Toves’ second goal came in the 59th minute or nine minutes after Richard Castro gave MP United a shaky lead, 5-4.

The MPU-Kanoa-1 match was also tied at the break, 2-2, with Andrew Chung scoring two for the former and Sophia Quintos and Toves registering one goal each for the latter. Then in the second half, Taehun Han and John Mark Anastacio lit up the board for Kanoa-1 before Toves closed out for the team. MP United, on the other hand, drew one goal each from Leo Takahashi, Kaito Rechucher, and Castro.
