MP United Football Club and Matansa Football Club both triumphed in the U18 division of the 2018 Spring Youth League by shutting out their respective opponents during last Saturday’s games held at the Hopwood Middle School soccer field. Although it was MP United’s first match, they managed to show their dominance over Kanoa Football Club, 7-0. MP Untied quickly set the tone with high pressure breaking down Kanoa’s defense. After seven minutes of action Skyler Poon broke the silence giving the team the lead 1-0.
Kanoa tried their best to hold MPU down but eventually grip once again in the 20th minute leaving Sunjoon Tenorio open to finish strong adding their second goal.

The second half was no different as MP Untied extended their assault. Dai Podziewski started off the run at the 45th mark with the single goal while Tenorio returned with two more goals before the 70th minute to strengthen their control. No matter what Kanoa did to turn the tables, they could not keep up letting Oliver Lee sneak in the dagger goal before ending the game.
Matansa Football Club posted their first win in the column defeating the National Development Team, 5-0.
Matansa FC used their aggressiveness to overwhelm NDT from start to finish. Joshua De Leon opened up at the ninth minute and continued to look for the kill forcing NDT to commit the error scoring in their own goal for one free point. It did not stop there. Joshua Mailig joined in connecting the third goal at the 36th mark to gain the safe distance. NDT did fight back getting a few close calls but just could not get passed Matansa FC’s goalie leaving them silent. Matansa FC used NDT’s forcefulness to use turning the momentum around with Jeffrey Seo and Brandon Delos Reyes on the frontline draining a goal each to seal the deal.
