Led by Canape, Kanoa beats Old B Bank

JOHN Canape scored two goals to lead the Kanoa Football Club in a 4-1 victory over Old B Bank in the Marianas Soccer League Cup on Nov. 14 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Vicente Reyes's goal 20 minutes into the game gave Kanoa an early lead, but Old B Bank's Akira Kadokura tied the game toward the end of the first half.
Kanoa regained the lead early in the second half with Canape scoring in the 63rd minute.
Kanoa then tightened their defense to prevent Old B Bank from equalizing even as Canape sank his second goal to widen his team’s lead.
Kanoa retained the lead thanks to its relentless defense. Toward the end of the game, Kanoa’s Ruben Guerrero put the icing on the cake with a goal in the 80th minute to secure a 4-1 victory.
In the team standings, Kanoa, which defeated Paire FC in a previous game, is now in second place while TanHoldings remains in the lead with three wins and no losses.
Against Paire Football Club, the NMI U18 team won by forfeit and now has a win-loss record of 3-1.
