Southern United, Paire to face off for U13 girls soccer title
SOUTHERN United and Paire football clubs will vie for the U13 girls division championship of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League after vanquishing their respective opponents Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center.
Southern United showcased their finesse on the field as they pummeled Tan Holdings Football Club 1, 7-2, to advance to the finals.
Both teams were quick on the trigger with SUFC’s Selena Atalig delivering the opening goal at the very first minute of the game.
Five minutes later, THFC 1’s Xyriel Pascual tied the game, 1-1.
SUFC retaliated with two goals contributed by Briannie Echalico at the 10th minute mark and Kalia Mendiola at the 14th minute mark for a 3-1 lead.
In the second half of the game, SUFC’s Rosie Saralu took over, connecting two goals at the 20th and 21st minute marks.
THFC tried to disrupt SUFC’s momentum with Pascual connecting her second make at the 23rd minute mark, but Saralu dropped two more goals at the 28th and 29th minute marks for the hat-trick to seal SUFC’s victory, 7-2.
Paire vs Kanoa 1
Paire clinched the remaining championship slot by edging Kanoa Football Club 1, 5-4.
It was a high-scoring first half with both teams not pulling back any punches.

KNFC 1 struck back with two goals delivered by Aubrey White and Lynn Ha Ye.
Hayes then added two more goals at the 8th and 10th minute marks to complete the hat-trick.
The seesaw battle continued as Ha Ye connected her second goal two minutes later, but Beatrix Gross provided her team’s fourth goal to give PFC a 4-3 lead by halftime.
KNFC 1 remained persistent in the second half with Elikristiana Iglecias scoring at the 18th minute mark for the fifth deadlock of the game.
However, PFC’s Phoenix Gross stepped up when she was needed most, striking at the 25th minute mark as her team retained the lead, 5-4.
