Kuala Lumpur: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa lauded the dedication of Northern Mariana Islands Football Association (NMIFA) President Jerry Tan towards uplifting the standards of football when the pair met shortly after the 35th AFC Congress in the Malaysian capital on Saturday.
The AFC President was notably impressed by the growing competitive spirit of the NMIFA’s national teams across the AFC and regional competitions.
Shaikh Salman also congratulated NMIFA President Jerry Tan on his successful re-election to the high-profile position at the NMIFA Congress held in 2024 and lauded the resolute confidence of the Northern Mariana Islands football family in his visionary leadership.
Shaikh Salman said: “As the newest member of the AFC, Northern Mariana Islands have made encouraging progress in these few short years, including the challenging period caused by the global pandemic, and their continued development is indeed testament to the leadership capabilities of President Tan.
