Our U20 WNT finished with a historic 3-0 win against Bahrain, giving the NMI our first victory in an AFC tournament!
The goal scorers for NMI were Summer Manahane with one goal and Kaithlyn Chavez with two. Our players fought hard until the final whistle, and the teamwork and dedication on display were nothing short of inspiring.
Thank you everyone for your continued support! This victory belongs to all of us!

Here’s an excerpt from AFC’s coverage of last night’s match:
Northern Mariana Islands started the better of the two teams with forward Kaithlyn Chavez producing two efforts, the second needing a reflex stop from Bahrain custodian Dhuwa Alfaihani.
Chavez’s constant threat bore fruit in the 22nd minute when she received the ball from Iris Rasa, turned and dribbled past three Bahrain players as well as Alfaihani before slotting into an empty goalmouth.
After the interval, apart from a couple of long range efforts from Sama Qasem which did not trouble custodian Mia Abuan, Bahrain asked limited questions of the Northern Mariana Islands’ defence.
A great run down the left from Chavez in the 83rd minute set up Summer Manahane for the finish before a mistake from Ameena Aldoseri in stoppage time gifted the ball to Ye Lynn Ha to square for Chavez to steer home.
