April 14, 2026 — Super Typhoon Sinlaku brought devastation unlike anything we have seen in years. With winds reaching up to 150 mph and more than 50 hours of relentless rain and destruction, families across Saipan, Tinian, and Rota are now facing the difficult reality of recovery.

At the Northern Mariana Islands Soccer Training Center, the damage is visible everywhere. Our fences are torn down, benches and goal posts destroyed, and spaces that brought our community together left in disarray. As many of us may remember, it echoes the painful memories of Super Typhoon Yutu, reminding us how long the road to recovery can be.

Yet even in the aftermath, there are signs of resilience. Our towering light posts still stand. Our coaches, staff, and volunteers are on the pitch, clearing debris piece by piece, showing that the spirit of our community remains unshaken.

Our season may be paused, and the road ahead is uncertain, but we have faced this before, and we will face it together again. With time, support, and collective effort, we will rebuild what was lost.

One day soon, our pitch will come alive again. The sound of the game, the cheers from the sidelines, and the joy of our children playing the game they love will return. Until then, we hold onto hope, we lend a hand where we can, and we move forward together.

We look forward to the day we can welcome you all back to the NMI Soccer Training Center.
