MPU FC Blue, Southern United FC are U13 champs


The U13 boys of MPU Football Club Blue and U13 girls of Southern United Football Club both seized the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2022 title after winning their games last Nov. 19 at the Northern Mariana Islands Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

While the championship went to the Blue team, the Golden Boot U13 boys trophy went to MPU FC Pink’s Taiga Namai-Scoggins, while SUFC’s Rosie Saralu won the Golden Boot for the U13 girls.


The boys of the Blue team rolled their way to the championship after defeating Kanoa Football Club, 2-1, and topped the leaderboard with 13 points on the back of their four wins, one draw, and no losses after five games played.

Meanwhile, MPU FC Pink won third place after they defeated Matansa Football Club, 5-0.

In the girls U13 bout, SUFC garnered 21 points and won seven out of their eight games to win the top spot, while second place went to Kanoa FC Team 1, and third place went to Tan Holdings FC Team 1, respectively.

Saralu led her pack to victory after scoring six of the girls’ 10 goals against MPU FC, while Caydence Masga and Addalee Taflinger scored MPU’s two goals.

Brianne Echalico scored three goals and Selena Atalig scored one for SUFC.

In the other U13 girls game that day, Matansa FC beat Kanoa Tan Holdings FC Team 2, 6-0; Tan Holdings FC 2 defeated Southern United FC TEAM 2, 8-1; and Tan Holdings FC Team 1 defeated Paire 7-3.
