You don’t just play for yourself. You play for your team.
Our special lesson for National Prevention Week reminded our players that every smart choice can positively impact the people around them.
We discussed what prevention means, how we can support and encourage each other, our responsibility to ourselves and the influence we have on others.
Through a fun teamwork drill, players learned that great teams succeed when everyone communicates, encourages one another, and works together toward the same goal.
During National Prevention Week and beyond, we are committed to preventing substance use and promoting well-being to keep our communities healthy and safe.

The Play Smart, Live Strong initiative by the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association empowers our youth to make healthy choices on and off the field. Together with the Saipan Soccer School After School Program, we are using the power of soccer to promote substance-free lifestyles and reduce the risk factors related to underage drinking and marijuana use.
Every week we will share about our practical lessons, group discussion highlights, and soccer skills we learned to support our players as they Play Smart, Live Strong!
