Play Smart, Live Strong | Summer Camp | Lesson 15: Be the Ultimate Teammate

This week, our players discovered that responsibility is about preparing yourself to be the teammate others can count on!

Before training, we explored how positioning in soccer and healthy choices in life go hand in hand. Great players know where they need to be on the field, while responsible athletes make choices that keep their minds clear, bodies strong, and teams successful.

On the pitch, players practiced positioning by reading the game, communicating with teammates, and staying ready for every play.

They also learned that staying hydrated, eating nutritious food, getting enough sleep, and staying substance-free all help keep them “in position” to perform their best!

The Play Smart, Live Strong initiative by the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association empowers our youth to make healthy choices on and off the field. Together with the Saipan Soccer School, we are using the power of soccer to promote substance-free lifestyles and reduce the risk factors related to underage drinking and marijuana use.

Every week we will share about our practical lessons, group discussion highlights, and soccer skills we learned to support our players as they Play Smart, Live Strong!
