Play Smart, Live Strong | After School Program | Lesson 25: Create Opportunities for Others

This week’s lesson focused on Helping Others and how a simple soccer skill like Crossing can teach us an important lesson about teamwork!

Players learned that a great cross is not about scoring the goal yourself, it’s about putting the ball where your teammate has the best opportunity to succeed. In the same way, helping others means looking for ways to support the people around us and give them a chance to do their best.

Through our group discussion and training, players explored how they can pass the support, turn to trusted adults for guidance, and encourage their friends to make healthy choices.

The Play Smart, Live Strong initiative by the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association empowers our youth to make healthy choices on and off the field. Together with the Saipan Soccer School, we are using the power of soccer to promote substance-free lifestyles and reduce the risk factors related to underage drinking and marijuana use.

Every week we will share about our practical lessons, group discussion highlights, and soccer skills we learned to support our players as they Play Smart, Live Strong!
