This week, our players explored what it means to be a leader on the field and in everyday life.
They also discussed how staying substance-free, encouraging friends, following trusted guidance, and speaking up in difficult situations are all ways to lead by example!
- Say No to Bad Choices – Keep your mind & body healthy by staying away from alcohol & marijuana.
- Be a Good Friend – Encourage your friends to do fun and healthy things!
- Speak Up – Say something if a situation does not feel right.
- Follow the Rules – Listen to your parents & coaches!

The Play Smart, Live Strong initiative by the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association empowers our youth to make healthy choices on and off the field. Together with the Saipan Soccer School, we are using the power of soccer to promote substance-free lifestyles and reduce the risk factors related to underage drinking and marijuana use.
Every week we will share about our practical lessons, group discussion highlights, and soccer skills we learned to support our players as they Play Smart, Live Strong!
