Play Smart, Live Strong | Summer Camp | Lesson 16: Strike Confidently

This week, our Play Smart, Live Strong players learned that confidence is about believing in yourself and having the courage to keep trying.

Before training, players explored how confidence helps them both on and off the field. Whether it’s taking a shot on goal, bouncing back from a missed opportunity, or making healthy choices, confidence grows every time we practice, learn, and persevere.

On the field, players worked on their shooting technique by learning to plant their foot, strike through the ball, and follow through with confidence.

Off the field, they discovered that choosing to stay away from alcohol and marijuana is also an act of confidence! It is protecting their bodies, earning the trust of teammates and coaches, and staying ready to perform at their best.

The Play Smart, Live Strong initiative by the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association empowers our youth to make healthy choices on and off the field. Together with the Saipan Soccer School, we are using the power of soccer to promote substance-free lifestyles and reduce the risk factors related to underage drinking and marijuana use.

Every week we will share about our practical lessons, group discussion highlights, and soccer skills we learned to support our players as they Play Smart, Live Strong!
