Confidence was the focus of this week’s Play Smart, Live Strong lesson!
Players discussed how confidence helps them:
- Trust their training
- Learn from mistakes instead of giving up
- Encourage teammates and celebrate small wins
- Have the courage to say “No” to harmful choices
- Replace negative thoughts with positive self-talk
During training, players practiced shooting with confidence by focusing on proper technique, committing to every strike, and staying positive after every attempt.

The Play Smart, Live Strong initiative by the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association empowers our youth to make healthy choices on and off the field. Together with the Saipan Soccer School, we are using the power of soccer to promote substance-free lifestyles and reduce the risk factors related to underage drinking and marijuana use.
