This week’s lesson focused on Leadership and how players can demonstrate leadership through Organizing Defense.
Players learned that leaders communicate with their teammates, stay aware of what is happening around them, work together to protect their goal, and step up when a teammate needs support.
The same qualities apply off the field! Being a leader means making healthy choices, speaking up when something is not right, encouraging friends to make positive choices, and knowing when to turn to a trusted adult for help.

The Play Smart, Live Strong initiative by the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association empowers our youth to make healthy choices on and off the field. Together with the Saipan Soccer School, we are using the power of soccer to promote substance-free lifestyles and reduce the risk factors related to underage drinking and marijuana use.
Every week we will share about our practical lessons, group discussion highlights, and soccer skills we learned to support our players as they Play Smart, Live Strong!
